City of Angels. For a second night in a row.
Could they not have rotated anythingelse in?

Honestly. Are they forreals doing the exact same setlist as they did 24 hours prior for the same group of people? I feel like I’m taking crazy pills.

Were they hoping the 80s lewks would throw people off and they’d forget they literally just watched them perform these songs?!?!??2!/!/’

I was at both Saturday and Sunday’s performances (thank god I only paid for one of the shows with my own cash) and they literally copy/pasted last night’s set list for tonight and threw in 3 (maybe 4) new songs for the rotation. I won’t lie, it was bit frustrating that they didn’t change it up tonight. They have four albums and refuse to stray away from the 15 songs they always perform. If I paid with my own cash for both nights or for the full weekend, I’d be pissssssed.

Don’t get me wrong, it was a great show. Jared was definitely a lot more loose tonight (as you can see by him sticking someone’s iPhone down his crotch) and I’m glad they said fuck the acoustic only set, let’s add some guitars and drums for the entire show. But it was a rip off for those who paid all that money expecting a different show just to get the same thing back to back.

So for those who couldn’t make it or only could watch the Livestream, you didn’t miss anything except for the amount of times Jared said fuck and motherfcucker which used quite liberally tonight tbh.

Thank you so much for sharing your honest thoughts and experience!

Like it really does blow my mind that they have 4 albums worth of music and somehow couldn’t manage to workup an entirely new setlist for their most-devoted fans who just saw them play the night before?

Or like, how about make it really nice and maybe throw in the new single you keep touting? Like, maybe test playing it live for your most-dedicated fans and give yourself that confidence boost? Cause let’s be real – you ain’t that precious that letting out some snippets of your single being performed live, a week or two early ain’t gonna hurt much. In fact, it would probably help with interest? tbh.

I was trying to remember setlists last year and I’m pretty sure they made a very conscious decision to keep the nights very different. There may have been a repeat the second night(??), but they threw in a whole bunch of covers and interesting takes on songs that if there was a repeat I certainly don’t remember it. The fact that they literally played so many of the exact same songs the second night this year is super-disappointing. In that it confirms the most obvious – they were too lazy to rehearse some old and maybe new shit and that they thought so little of the devoted base in front of them that they knew they’d just gobble up whatever they tossed them, which, in this case would be basically the exactly same songs they just watched them perform the night before.

ngl, when I saw the snaps come thru last night I legit couldn’t believe my ears. It’s fucking depressing. This is supposed to be a very special experience and you basically treated it like two of your opening shows for Muse? Maybe with less audience participants running across the stage?

Like, get it together.

Of course! Happy to share. As I said, I can’t be mad cause I didn’t pay for one of the nights. So, for me it was just a cool experience to see the guys live. But I was amazed at how easily the fans around soaked it up. A good portion of the crowd were repeats from the night before, they could’ve and should’ve done a whole new set.

The only difference (and I use the term loosely) was that a few of the songs they played the “rock” version of instead of the alternate version. For example, conquistador. But other than that; it was the same

It was obvious they, and by they I mean Jared, didn’t have their shit their together. He constantly made a reference to the fact that on Sunday they only planned the first three songs and after that it was a shit show cause nothing was planned out. It was obvious. Fans were screaming for him to do other songs and they just stuck to the same rotation as the night before. I can’t say I’m not surprised, it was part of my concern about attending, but I was hoping they would do better.

As for doing the new single. From what I gathered, campers heard the new song earlier that day. I’m guessing that’s the “secret” they hinted at on Snapchat. Spoiler alert: the beginning is a lot oooooooh’s in typical Mars fashion. Also, he said the final version of the song was due at 10 am on Monday morning and they were finishing the song and art work. So maybe that’s why it was such a clusterfuck cause they’re scrambling to finish a song they teased was gonna be done early July.

I really don’t know why they’re keeping this song under such lock and key. I was hoping they would give us a preview on Sunday night but noooope we get Do or Die for the second night in a row. It’s kinda obvious they don’t care, the fans soaked it up (myself included although I sat down for a good part cause no point in killing my feet for the same set list). The plus side Jared sounded amazing…at least to me, I was surprised he did the scream two nights in a row and I enjoyed seeing him bust out the electric guitar and the rest of the band play other instruments.

Oh! And also camp mars 2018 isn’t happening. He formally announced it last night. They’re taking a pause. I think it’s cause they’re gonna be on tour next year since supposedly this album they’ve been teasing for four years finally is coming out this year. But they also said if…when it does come back, they may try to do it in Europe. Which makes sense, their fanbase is so strong on that side of the world and attendance was obviously weak if they’re trying to push passes the day of.

a-a-aaand that’s all she wrote. thanks for the review!
