Inside the CW’s Upfront: Jared Leto in Hot Pants, a Sunday Shill and ‘Riverdale’ Fever:

The Star Power | Jared Leto and his brother Shannon, the pair behind Thirty Seconds to Mars, opened The CW show. “This is not rock and roll hours — at all,” he said of the 11 a.m. start time, adding: “Hitting those high notes is a bit of a stretch.”

And Jared Leto performed, while admitting it was hard to hit some of the notes in his song, due to it being only 11 AM which, he admonished, “is not rock and roll hours at all.”

Here is how it went, on ET time:

11:03 AM: CW presentation begins, per tradition, with a music performance. This year it’s Thirty Seconds to Mars.

“We’re the early morning breakfast band!” lead singer Jared Leto jokes after first number. “I’ll tell you, this not rock and roll hours at all… I hope you had your coffee and espresso and egg sandwich.”

Before his second song, Walk on Water, he tells the ad execs it’s okay “If you want to get a little crazy – but I know you got your suits on.”

Looks like he took them to church.

In 1995, the fourth wall was still intact, nobody thought much about Jared not actually being Jordan, and a high schooler. Tbh, I wonder if they could even make this show with this cast today.

Thirty Seconds to Mars Earn Highest Charting Album Ever on Billboard 200 With ‘America’

Thirty Seconds to Mars Earn Highest Charting Album Ever on Billboard 200 With ‘America’:

mars-whitepapers:

Of America’s starting unit total, 54,000 were in traditional album sales – the group’s second-largest sales week ever. Its only bigger week was earned by the 69,000 start of This Is War in 2009. (America’s sales bow was enhanced by sales generated from a concert ticket/album sale redemption offer with the band’s upcoming tour, which starts on June 6.)

That fine print tho:

“Thirty Seconds to Mars’ America opened its chart run with a Number Two debut, selling 62,000 copies in its first week of release; that total was aided in part by a deal that coupled concert tickets to Jared Leto and company’s upcoming tour with a free copy of America.”

They’re not gonna let him celebrate, are they?
